| EEX Group has continued to grow. We are delighted to welcome GET Baltic, the regional gas exchange operating in the Baltic states and Finland, to our family. Together with our partners and customers, we are taking another step towards a harmonised and pan-European gas market, further improving liquidity in EEX’s natural gas market, and adding Vilnius as our 20th office location across four continents.
The gas markets of GET Baltic are a valuable addition to the existing gas offering and clearing services. Since its founding in 2012, GET Baltic has seen year-on-year growth to become a significant regional market player in the region with a 17% market share of total consumption in the Baltic countries and Finland in 2022, trading a natural gas volume of 7 TWh.
Together, GET Baltic and EEX will strengthen the gas markets in the Baltic Sea Region and further integrate them with the European gas markets. EEX Group’s expertise in the development and operation of the European gas markets forms an optimal basis for this.
And this is not the only success in our Gas & Sustainability Markets that we can report: EEX Group member Grexel was selected to develop the Latvian GO registry for the local the natural gas transmission and storage system operator. The very dynamic Baltic Sea region is, therefore, a region currently in focus.
From the Baltic Sea to the North Sea: EEX AG is extending its End of Day Index (EEX EOD) to NBP, the UK market area. The introduction of the index reflects the EEX NBP spot volumes’ evolution recently observed.

New NBP – End of Day Index published
|
| EEX AG is extending its End of Day Index (EEX EOD) to NBP. From 23 March 2023, the NBP EOD will be published alongside all other market areas – providing more transparency and trustworthy reference prices for the UK market area. And the best is yet to come: EEX will also extend the EGSI to the NBP at a later stage.

Developing a new registry for biogas and hydrogen
|
| Grexel, an EEX Group member, was selected to develop the Latvian registry for guarantees of origin for Conexus Baltic Grid AS, the unified natural gas transmission and storage system operator. As a European Energy Certificate System compatible biogas and hydrogen registry, the cooperation is one of the first of its kind in Europe and we’re very excited to be part of this pioneering work.
